Hussein Diyaya Alam, 20, from Kano State dresses in hijab like a woman to defraud men. According to Lagos State commissioner of Police, Fatia Owoseni, Alam had been going around with his fraudulent act for 2 years but he ran out of luck. Alam went about bearing a woman’s name, Kadijat and dressing in hijab. He had disappeared after obtaining N15,000 from one of his victims, Hasimu Soli, under the false pretense that he was going to marry him. Soli however sighted him at the CMS, Lagos on November 15 and a quarrel ensued. Soli had wanted to take Kadijat home, but he refused, giving various excuses. While they're dragging themselves policemen who were on patrol, saw them and intervened. They were taken to the police station for causing the breach of public peace. . At the station, Soli was shocked to hear the confession of Kadijat that he is a man disguised in women’s outfit to defraud men. Alam said he had defrauded several men in Lagos and that he dresses like a woman because he looks like a woman. . He relocated to Lagos from Kano State so that people who know him will not identify him. He usually stands at Ojulegba and CMS areas to look for men. Soli had already taken Alam to see his family in preparation for marriage before he disappeared.
